Janusz Lewandowski (born 1937 in Rokicie near Plock) is a painter. Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Prof. Artur Nacht-Samborski. He received his diploma in 1964. After graduation, he took an active part in artistic life. Participant of many plein-airs and symposia (Ustka 1972, Krapkowice 1973. - Górażdże cement plant project in a team with Marian Bogusz and Juliusz Wozniak, Golden Grape 1975, Osieki 1979, Festivals of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1966, 1970, 1972, 1975, 1978). He was honored with numerous prizes and awards, including at the XXIV All-Polish Winter Salon of Fine Arts "Metaphor in Contemporary Painting and Drawing" in Radom (1980), the Warsaw Mayor's Award at the Exhibition of Painting and Graphics of Artists of the Warsaw Environment in Zachęta (1985.), the "Artists in the International Year of the Child" Award at Zachęta (1979), the Miyauchi Polish-Japanese Award (1995), the Wladyslaw Hasior Award (2011), a nomination for the Norwid Award (2012), and the Kazimierz Ostrowski Award (2017). In 2018, he received the order "Meritorious for the Polish state and Polish culture" Gloria Artis.
