Janusz Lewandowski (born 1937 in Rokiciu near Plock) - painter. Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Prof. Artur Nacht-Samborski. He received his diploma in 1964. After graduation, he took an active part in artistic life. Participant of many plein-airs and symposia (Ustka 1972, Krapkowice 1973. - Górażdże cement plant project in a team with Marian Bogusz and Juliusz Wozniak, Festivals of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1966, 1970, 1972, 1975, 1978). He was honored with numerous prizes and awards, including at the XXIV All-Polish Winter Salon of Fine Arts "Metaphor in Contemporary Painting and Drawing" in Radom (1980), the "Artists in the International Year of the Child" Award in Zachęta (1979.), the Polish-Japanese Miyauchi Award (1995), the Wladyslaw Hasior Award (2011), a nomination for the Norwid Award (2012), and the Kazimierz Ostrowski Award (2017). In 2018, he received the order "Meritorious for the Polish state and Polish culture".
