Jana Shostak (born 1993) - Polish-Belarusian intermedia artist and activist, PhD student at the UA in Poznan, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma in Miroslaw Balka's Studio of Spatial Activities, 2017) In May 2021 she initiated a protest in the form of a minute's shout for Belarus, which was held daily in front of the European Union representation in Warsaw. The symbolic shout was an appeal for decisive action against the Lukashenko regime. In his artistic practice, he focuses on activities that activate the community inside the non-artistic system. She believes in the effectiveness of art.
Winner of Passports of Polityka 2021. winner of the Critics Award (Best Diplomas of the Academy of Fine Arts), Honor Mention (Start Point Prize), Grand Prix (Young Wolves '16), 1st place (Festival In Out), ZAiKS Award (Coming out '17), Robert Biedronia Award (Fish Eye Art Biennale) . Non-exhibition (Powszechny Theater, Warsaw).Her works are in the collections of the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, Arsenal City Gallery, Filmoteka MSN.
