Biography
Graduated from painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1951, in the studio of Prof. Zbigniew Pronaszko. As a student he made his debut at the First Exhibition of Modern Art in Cracow in 1948-49. Since 1962 he has been a member of the Cracow Group. In 1974, he began teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and in 1987-90 was the rector of the academy. In 1984 he received the Jan Cybis Award. In 1995, a monographic exhibition of the artist's works took place at Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery.
