Biography
In 1951 he graduated from painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studio of Professor Zbigniew Pronaszko. As a student, he debuted at the First Exhibition of Modern Art in Cracow in 1948-49. Since 1962, he has been a member of the Cracow Group. In 1974, he began teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and was rector of the academy from 1987-90. In 1984 he received the Jan Cybis Award. In 1995 there was a monographic exhibition of the artist's works at the Warsaw Zachęta Gallery.
