Provenance:
private collection, Warsaw

Bibliography:
Kowalska B., "Polish avant-garde painting 1945-1980. Chances and myths", Państwowe Wydawnictwo Naukowe, Warsaw 1988.

"This is not painting, as it has often been interpreted, aesthetic, with origins in post-impressionist colorism, nor inspired by a musical score or derived from mathematics. These records are a projection of meanings that cannot be clearly translated into words or read. There is encoded in them not only space, but also movement, implying constant changeability and transformation of one form into another (...)" - characterized Bozena Kowalska. The artist himself emphasized the essence of the interaction of elements with each other, so that the final result of the painting process is not the sum of individual shapes, but a new quality, a separate entity. In the sublime artistic language created by Jan Tarasin, and consisting of simplified, signs (geometric figures, letters), one sees references to the art of the Far East, especially calligraphy. Harmony, beauty, and at the same time a deep understanding of the theme of space and its dynamization in the artist's works, have gained recognition around the world. From Tokyo, to Paris, to New York.
