Jan Szancenbach (born January 8, 1928 in Cracow, died December 15, 1998 there) - Polish painter, representative of colorism, professor and rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow.
He painted landscapes, still lifes, views of interiors full of expression, with varied texture, sometimes bordering on abstraction. In addition to painting, he was also involved in graphic design, design (posters, covers, etc.), painting in architecture (including the renovation of the auditorium of the J. Słowacki Theater in Krakow, the auditorium and plafond at the Wroclaw Opera House) and drawing film.
Between 1948 and 1996 he participated in more than 300 national and 70 foreign exhibitions.
