Jan Niksiński was born on 28.05.1952 in Przasnysz. He began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk in 1972, and in 1975 he moved to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. 1978 - Diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts 1980 - 9th month art scholarship and study at the Akademie für Angewandte Kunst in Vienna. 1982 Teaching work at the Sommerakademie in Salzburg. 1985 - Art scholarship from the Salzburg city government. 1990 - 1994 Collaboration with THEATERmëRZ in Graz (Scenography and Installations). 2009 Mark Rothko International Plein-Air - Daugavpils (Latvia). Since 1978 has been freelancing as a painter.
