Biography
During the war he studied painting in Warsaw at the Konrad Krzyzanowski underground school. He graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in 1951 and received his diploma in 1956. He is a professor at the Warsaw Academy's Industrial Design Department. He is also an essayist, art critic and stage designer. He was co-author of the polychrome paintings on the townhouses of the Old Town Square in Warsaw. He won one of the main prizes at the legendary Arsenal exhibition (1955). In 1977 he received the Jan Cybis Award. His works are in museum collections, including: National Museum in Warsaw, Kielce, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. A monographic exhibition of the artist was presented by Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery in 2002.
