Iwona Markowicz-Winiecka - born in 1956 in Szczecin. She lives and works in Gorzow Wielkopolski.
She graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań. She studied under Prof. Waclaw Twarowski (painting) and Prof. Andrzej Zalecki (graphic design). In addition to the program, she took lessons in lithography in the studio of Prof. Lucjan Mianowski. In 1986, she received a master's degree in fine arts education. Since 2002, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists / Szczecin Branch. Since 1989, she has participated in group exhibitions, and since 1996 has exhibited individually. Since 1996, she has participated in painting plein-airs and art symposia. She has had more than 20 individual exhibitions and participated in more than fifty group exhibitions. She works in painting, drawing and graphic design.
She cultivates painting built on tonal delicate color combinations. It is not about pure formal play, but rather the meaning and value of symbol. (Pawel Lasik, introduction to marco catalog, Lamus Creative Thought Club 2003.).
He revolves around sublime themes, because there is nothing more sublime than finding more and more new phenomena and dependencies in modernity: man - nature, nature - man. In oil technique, acrylic, as well as individual technique, he expresses himself in sophisticated and noble colors. (Stanislaw Mazus, introduction to the catalog Iwona Markowicz-Winiecka Painting, MCK in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Historical and Archaeological Museum
in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski).
This artist, like few others, is able to imbue an ordinary event with her own emotionality and elevate it to the rank of a work of art (Andrzej Haegenbarth, "Poznań-panorama", 2000).
One of Gorzow's most interesting artist-painters. Author of an intriguing series of esoteric drawings, warm portraits of young children. (Renata Ochwat, Gazeta Wyborcza, October 5, 2001).
Art projects: To My Children, Own Techniques, Genessis.
Works, among others, in collections : BWA / Gorzow Wielkopolski; Regional Museum / Barlinek; Adjara Art Museum / Batumi; in private collections at home and abroad in Germany, Norway, Italy, Georgia, Australia.
