Iwo Birkenmajer
Iwo Birkenmajer was born in 1955 and lives in Krakow. He is a painter, pastelist, draughtsman, sculptor, as well as a poet. He studied classical philosophy at Krakow's Jagiellonian University, as well as historic preservation at Torun's Nicolaus Copernicus University. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists.
He has been awarded in many Polish and foreign competitions, including the XIX, XX and XXIV Premio Firenze in Florence), as well as in exhibitions such as "Small Format 2013" and "Small Format 2014" District of Krakow ZPAP. In the 2017 edition of this exhibition, he won the first prize - the "Golden Frame." In 2005, he was honored with the award of the Minister of Culture and Art.
The artist has presented his work in our country and many others: in Italy, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, Croatia, Austria and the USA. He has participated in more than two hundred group and solo exhibitions, and his works are in many private collections and art galleries.
