Kulik is a painter-turned-painter, inextricably linked to the world of literature and historical myths. With his characteristic style, close to expressionism of the early 20th century, he presents us with a reality known from Bruno Schultz's "Cinnamon Shops," Gustav Meyrink's mystical short stories or Mikhail Bulgakov's surrealist works. The most important element of the rich painterly compositions in Kulik's works are people with pointed noses and gothic hands, bound by a web of complicated relationships (often amorous). Absorbed only in themselves - despite belonging to dreamy and extremely interesting provincial towns, cafes and boudoirs, they limit their interactions exclusively to interpersonal exchanges of glances, handshakes or kisses.
