Ireneusz Szczęch is a graduate of the State High School of Fine Arts in Bydgoszcz. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and Krakow. He studied industrial design, painting and poster design. In 1990 he defended his diploma in the studio of unique design. After graduation he received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Art, and in 1992 was admitted to ZPAP. Initially, he did didactic work at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and at the School of Applied Art "Schola Posnaniensis". The artist is involved in easel painting, painting in architecture, printmaking, posters, architecture and exhibitions. He cooperates with publishing houses (e.g., Zysk and S-ka Publishing House). He has exhibited his works in numerous collective and individual exhibitions. He cooperates with galleries in Germany, Belgium, Holland and Great Britain. His paintings are full of disturbing tranquility and existential reflection. The artist uses symbolism, metaphor and gently alludes to surrealism.
