"Everything we do as a genre is the result of struggling against adversity. We invented clothes because we were cold. We started building houses to avoid rain. We created laws to reduce the number of murders. The question arises as to why things are different with art. It's because even though we invented clothes, houses and legal systems, we still freeze, get wet and kill each other. Art, meanwhile, makes sense of it all. It allows us to look at pain in a broader context." - Christopher Zara, Artists Tormented
