Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz in the studio of Prof. Roman Modzelewski - he received his diploma in 1961. Since 1985, he headed the Department of General Plastic Education at the Institute of Industrial Forms. He was vice dean and then dean of the Department of Industrial Forms. He had many solo exhibitions, the last one was organized by the Municipal Art Gallery in Lodz on the 40th anniversary of his artistic and pedagogical work in 2001. He practiced abstract painting, whose initial inspiration was the world of microcosm. He painted the compositions then: "Microcosm White," "Microcosm Red" and "Microcosm Blue." In the first half of the 1960s, he built paintings referring to the style of informel, and in the late 1960s he changed his way of depicting using jagged forms with dramatic tension. His art, bordering on gestural expression, adhering to the rules of constructive order, is ambiguous and emotional.
