Ingeborga Kink-Krzyżanowska and Grzegorz Krzyżanowski are graduates of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
They practice oil painting, mainly landscapes, drawing subjects from nature and imagination. In their works they refer to the tradition of 19th century realism. Their creative attitude is mainly expressed in enriching their landscapes with their own feelings. Depending on the mood or character of the area, lyrical landscapes are created, intriguing with inner restlessness.
They generally spend spring, summer and autumn near Mielnik, in Podlasie. Their Bug River landscapes show the typical scenery of the area: vast, flat spaces, the lazy water of the majestic Bug River, dense groups of greenery, a cloudy sky. Despite the peculiarity of the motifs, their paintings are far from the convention of "painted views," as they treat the reality of the Mielnica countryside primarily as an area of artistic interpretation. A patch of field, a meadow, a clump of trees - dramatized with a predatory layer of clouds, suggestive color, make a banal subject an expressive composition. Elsewhere, the character of the image is determined by the play of flickering, colorful spots, which allows you to record fleeting impressions, the passing of light and time. All this causes the paintings to become an expression of individual experiences of artists and viewers.
