From 2003 to 2008 he studied art history at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw. From 2006, he studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, receiving his diploma in 2011 in the Painting Space studio of Prof. Leon Tarasewicz and Dr. Paweł Susid. In 2022, he received his doctoral degree in the studio of Prof. Grzegorz Sztwiertnia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Since 2020, he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
The presented painting was created after an artistic expedition to South America in 2019 within the framework of the MŁODA POLSKA 2019 Scholarship. The purpose of the trip was to trace the route of Józef Czapski in 1955. The composition consists of views from the countries visited: Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. The painting by Grzegorz Kozera - a painter and collage maker - "glues together" various motifs recorded during the trip. What's more, it affects the viewer in a surprising way - viewed from a distance it seems like an abstraction, while up close the colorful rectangular fields reveal fragments of concrete reality. They are like partially blurred memories or blurry photographs. It is possible that the color scheme of each "frame" is the result of emotions evoked by place and time.
