Biography
Studied at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw from 1980 to 1985. Received a diploma with distinction in the Painting Studio of Prof. Wanda Gołkowska. Winner of the second prize of the jury at the National Biennial of Young Artists "Way and Truth" in Wroclaw. This was one of the first exhibitions that featured the so-called New Expression - a trend in art of the second half of the 20th century, whose artists focused on expressing feelings and emotions. Although Minciel took part in most of the group's exhibitions from the beginning, he adopted an outsider position. His works were distinguished by his own independent style, which referred to abstraction. Inspired by the German art group Neue Wilde ("New Wild"), Minciel depicted reality on his canvases without embellishment or obliteration of the truth. The artist's position is underscored by the fact that his works have appeared in the most important generational exhibitions, including "Radical Realism - Concrete Abstraction" (National Museum in Warsaw, 1987) and "Recognition - paintings of the 1990s". (Bunkier Art Gallery in Cracow, 1996). The artist's works have been purchased by the National Museum in Wroclaw, the National Museum in Warsaw and the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, among others.
