Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In the 1920s, thanks to a two-year scholarship, he stayed in Paris, where he presented his works at the Autumn Salon (in 1925, 1927 and 1928). After the war, he settled in Wroclaw, where he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1962, he founded the Wroclaw Group. In his paintings, inspired by Polish battle themes, he depicted horse portraits, races, hunts and subjects related to the paintings of Piotr Michałowski and the Kossaks. After the war, he devoted a large part of his works to views of Wroclaw. Since the late 1950s, his painting has moved closer to the unreal images of the world of the artist's vision. He also painted subtle nudes and still lifes.
