Born in the village of Przełaj near Sędziszów, he graduated from vocational school, worked as a miner for two years, was a welder, conductor and manager of passenger trains, and a farmer. He belonged to a group of amateur artists at the Sosnowiec and Jędrzejów community centers. In 1983, he was awarded second place in the Non-Professional Art Review. In his works he readily referred to nature. He valued the countryside, whose sincerity he placed in opposition to urban hypocrisy, and often took up the theme of the conflict of good and evil.
