Biography
She was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (1932-34) and Krakow (1933-36), from which she graduated under W. Weiss. In 1942 she escaped from the Lviv ghetto. During her studies, she sympathized with the milieu of the "Cracow Group" and took part in the organization of the artistic avant-garde after World War II. In addition to easel painting, she was involved in collage and poetic works. The artist developed an individual symbolism, freely associating abstract forms with the world of real shapes. Her works were exhibited, among others, at the Modern Art Exhibition in Cracow (1948 and 1949) and Warsaw (1957 and 1959), the "Nine" exhibition (1955). She also exhibited at the Galleries: Krzysztofory and Krzywe Koło. In 1977 she received the C. K. Norwid Art Criticism Award, and in 1966 the J. Cybis Award for lifetime achievement.
