Edward Dwurnik's gouache depicting a Krakow veduta with Wawel Castle represents all the elements characteristic of the artist's work. The picture is dynamic, but with an orderly composition, the color scheme is expressive, but not overwhelming, and the subject matter is one of Dwurnik's favorite motifs, the Polish cityscape. The drawing shows the building of Wawel Castle with the famous details accompanying the structure, including Wawel Cathedral, the equestrian statue of Tadeusz Kosciuszko placed on the Wladyslaw IV Bastion, and the courtyard of the castle. The artist even included the famous dragon sculpture, which he signed, and marked the specific terrain around Wawel surrounded by the Vistula River.
The work is signed in the lower left corner: KRAKÓW WAWEL | E. DWURNIK 2005
The gouache is sold framed as shown in the photo.
