100x130 cm, technique: acrylic, canvas, year of creation: 2022
The painting "Yellow Field with Red Building" by Dorota Kiermasz is a mesmerizing work of impressive dimensions - 100 cm high and 130 cm wide. This painting, created using acrylic technique on canvas in 2022, takes the viewer on a surreal journey into an abstract landscape.
The main element of this work is the intense contrast between the yellow background, which fills most of the canvas, and the red, expressive building placed centrally. The yellow field that dominates the painting may symbolize vitality, joy and light, while the red building seems to be a point of focus and the mysterious center of the narrative. Dorota Kiermasz is a native of Katowice. She graduated from the Art School Complex in Katowice - specializing in woodcarving. In 2006, she received a diploma from the Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland, at the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Painting in the Painting Studio of Prof. Ryszard Hunger and the Intaglio Studio of Prof. Krzysztof Wawrzyniak. In 2008, she completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Lodz in computer graphics and web design. She deals mainly with abstract painting, which she calls "real abstraction", but she is also no stranger to such forms of expression as printmaking and applied graphics. She has participated in many group and solo exhibitions. For 10 years she ran the Grand Galerie 7.15 at the Grand Hotel in Lodz, presenting the achievements of contemporary artists in the field of visual arts. She cooperated with the Smok Off Culture Association and the Museum of Cinematography in Lodz.
