The pursuit of order, rhythm in the works of Dorota Grynczel, is evident in every stage of her work. It can be said that it has become the mainstay of her unique style, which was created not in opposition, but as a continuation of painting considerations begun by an earlier generation of Polish artists. The distinctive texture, along with the color and light used, enhances the irresistible impression of geometry and harmony emanating from the painting. However, the aforementioned formal factors play yet another role. These canvases can be seen as an allegory of the balance of forces, the spiritual element (the light in the painting) and the material element, made aware by the rough surface of the work.
"In painting, I have dealt with textures. If the nature I observe and interact with is for me something more than a disordered sequence of impermanent changes, then only insofar as they are determined by rhythms. Rhythm - the universal order of existence is the basis for the emergence of order in changeability. Rhythm in my works will organize the variety of changes in the composition. Texture is a very distant allusion to reality and one of the ways of perceiving depth by means of sight. in fabric deals with the problem of transparency. The world is transparent. crystal, glass, mother of pearl, ice of solidifying water are signs of a process in which mineral and luminous matter, or spiritualized matter, will appear in place of organic matter. Through reduction one can grasp how the world functions, moving from the dimension of the maximum to the dimension of the minimum, from the natural to the artificial. "* Dorota Grynczel.
