Biography
Czeslaw Wasilewski, also known as Ignacy Zygmuntowicz (1875 Warsaw - 1947 Lodz) in his work referred to the painting style of Wojciech Kossak. The most common subject of his paintings was horse-drawn carriages, as well as battle scenes, hunting scenes and winter landscapes. He participated in numerous exhibitions of Polish painting, including in Lublin in 1922, at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the 1920s, as well as in Gdynia, Katowice, Częstochowa, Kalisz. He was active in Warsaw. Wasilewski's works are in the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw, as well as in museums in Lodz, Lancut and Leszno.
