Biography
The artist studied in 1963-1964 at the Faculty of Historic Preservation and at the Faculty of Arts and Didactics of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. In 196 he moved to Warsaw, where he graduated from the studio of Aleksander Kobzdej at the Academy of Fine Arts. His work was greatly influenced by a six-month stay in Great Britain, where he had a chance to get acquainted with the work of New Figuration artists. After returning to Poland, he created series of works inspired by the achievements of Western European artists, including a series entitled "Unlikely and Unlikely Similar Forms." Later, he created large-format works, often the result of his fascination with the architecture of American metropolitan areas, which he had a chance to admire during his academic internship at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. The artist experimented with various artistic techniques such as dripping and pointillism, while paying great attention to the color harmony and expressive values of the painting plane. For a time, he also created monumental reinforced concrete sculptures.
