Classic of world street art.
"His mixed style, in which he combines rough backgrounds with multi-layered stencils in shades of gray, results in captivating works of art with detailed and precise images depicting strange, nostalgic figures, cyborgs and abstract patterns that look like hallucinations of a dystopian future."
Damian Terlecki , who works under this pseudonym, has lived and worked in Berlin since the early 1990s, but his work has become part of the canon of outsider art around the world, from Indonesia to the United States. Reproductions of his work can be found in many major publications discussing street art.
His finely cut stencils depict portraits of people and machine illustrations. By layering, duplicating, overlapping and rebuilding stencils, he has managed to create his own language of forms that is innovative, modern and yet communicative.
