About the author: Antoni Szymaniuk (1921 -1994) counted among the most important artists active in the Bialystok art community of thesecond half of the 20th century. Born in Bialystok, he studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk in the studio of Prof. Artur Nacht-Samborski. He decorated the rebuilt monuments of Gdansk, then returned permanently to Bialystok where he made monumental works in sgraffito technique and engaged in painting. He took part in dozens of exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He created 150 oil paintings, 200 watercolors, 50 posters. Repeatedly awarded, among others, the badge of Meritorious Cultural Activist in 1980.
