Benedykt Kroplewski (Malbork, 1948) graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture. He received his diploma in 1980. He does easel painting, printmaking, drawing and poster art. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and plein-air painting workshops at home and abroad, including Japan, Germany, Italy, USA, Sweden, Lithuania, Russia and Latvia. He has won many awards, including first prize for poster of the year (Gdansk, 1979) and the main prize for poster at the 14th Polish Feature Film Festival in 1979. A representative exhibition of his works took place at the Malbork Castle Museum in 2002.
