About the artist: Olena Sarzhenko is an artist, graphic designer, illustrator, designer and photographer from Ukraine. She graduated with a master's degree in graphic design from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art. Olena is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine . Before the war, she worked as a composition teacher at the Communal Establishment "Loziv Vocational Art College" of the Kharkiv Region Council. Olena Sarzhenko is a regular participant in all-Ukrainian and international competitions and exhibitions of posters, paintings and graphics. She has participated in international plein-airs (Narew 2022, Narewka 2022 and 2023, Siemczyno 2022, Wermsdorf 2023) and creative residencies Pogranichchya 2022 (Gruszki, Poland), Kunslergut 2022 (Prösitz, Germany). Olena hasbeen living in Podlasie for a year and a half, from where she draws a lot of inspiration for her creative work, as can be seen in the series of paintings " Sky over Siemianowka ", "Ruins of the church in Yalowka " and others.
