Apoloniusz Węgłowski was born in 1951 in Piaseczno. Graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1977-82. He received his diploma with honors in the painting studio of Prof. Stefan Gierowski in 1982. Annexes in the studies: graphics by Prof. Halina Chrostowska, composition by Prof. Roman Owidzki and fabric by Prof. Wojciech Sadley. Twice a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art - in 1981 and 1999. He cultivates abstract painting and drawing. He has taken part in dozens of group exhibitions at home and abroad. Major awards include: Joan Miro Contest 1984, drawing; Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Triennale 1987, drawing; IV Sacrum Triennale, Częstochowa 2000, painting, drawing; Talens Award 2001, painting. His works are in museum collections in Poland and Germany and in private collections at home and abroad.
