Biography
From 1945 to 1951, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in the painting studios of Prof. Wacław Taranczewski, Stanisław Szczepański and Eustachy Wasilkowski. He received his diploma in easel painting and wall techniques in 1951 in the studio of Prof. Waclaw Taranczewski. From 1949, he was employed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań as an assistant, assistant professor, associate professor and since 1984 as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 1975-1981 and 1984-1987, he served as vice-dean of the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture. In 1981-1984, he was head of the Department of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture. Since 1951, he has participated in about 90 group exhibitions at home and abroad. He is the recipient of numerous artistic and national awards, including the Awards of the Minister of Culture and Art of the third, second and first degree, the Award of the City of Poznań, the Award of the Senate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań - Scholae Bene Merito. Awarded, among others, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Medal of the Commission of National Education, Medal for the Protection of Monuments of the Poznań Province, ZPAP Gold Badge.
