Biography
Painter, graphic artist, social activist. Great-grandson of painter Jan Feliks Piwarski (1794-1859). In 1960-1966 studied at the Faculty of Painting of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk, in the studios of Stanisław Teisseyre´ and Jacek Żuławski. From 1976 to 1980, he taught at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Münster in the painting studio, and from 1987 to 1991 he led the painting studio at the European Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Luxembourg. In 1993, he founded the European Art Laboratory in Tuchom, where he organizes the "Tuchomie" International Artists' Symposia, publishing an extensive catalog each year illustrating the activities of the participating artists. Participant of many international symposia and open-air painting workshops.Author, among others, of a series of paintings inspired by August '80.His works are in many museums and private art collections around the world (including the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Gdansk, the Silesian Museum in Katowice, the Museum of the Berlin Wall in Berlin, the Diocesan Art Collections in Essen).
