Andrzej Filipowicz
Born in 1974 in Grodno. He graduated from the Grodno State University at the Faculty of Painting and Drawing. He also studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He is a member of the Society of Polish Artists, founded in 1993 and operating at the Union of Poles in Belarus. He specializes in easel painting, involving the combination of various materials and conventions .In his painting output to date, three main series of works can be distinguished. These include portraits, nudes and landscapes. The painter devotes most attention to scenes in which the main motif is a female figure. Andrzej Filipowicz's paintings evoke the absolute, they are like striving for what is beautiful, sublime, perfect. They do not depict a factual state, but the pursuit of this state, as if the artist wanted at all costs, through his imagined world, to preserve what, according to him, is hidden under the concept of beauty. The artist does not limit himself to painting. He also achieves considerable success in interior design, photography and graphic design. For years he has also successfully reconciled creative work with social activity. He has been a regular participant in international exhibitions and plein-airs since 1994, along with artists such as Jan Wołek, Franciszek Starowieyski and Edward Dwurnik. He has held art scholarships in the United States and Germany. In 2003 he was invited by the Emir of Qatar to the Winter Carnival held in that country. He participated in Fashion Week Poland, autumn-winter 2015/2016 in Lodz , the collection "City Life" was inspired by his painting .In 2017 he received the award of the Minister of Culture. He also received the award of the Minister of Maritime Economy for his participation in the creation of the artistic image of the Dar Młodzieży in the Independence Cruise . Andrzej Filipowicz's paintings could be seen during individual and collective exhibitions, including in such places as; Sopot, Warsaw, Torun, Cracow, Bialystok, Kazimierz Dolny, Mrągowo, Pułtusk, Lublin, Dresden, Brussels and London. His works are in many collections around the world.
