Andrzej Cisowski - painter, multimedia artist. He was born on March 1, 1962 in Bialystok. In 1987, he received his diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Prof. Rajmund Ziemski. He then went on to study at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, in the studio of Konrad Klapheck and A. R. Penck, where he received his Meisterschüller degree in 1990.
Inspired by German, Japanese and American art, Cisowski created his own unique style, on the borderline of figurative painting and new expression. In his work we find elements taken from comic books, cartoons, advertisements and the contemporary world of pop culture. At various times, the artist has not hesitated to experiment with form, color and technique, combining timeless inspirations with recent history.
He received numerous awards for his work. He died unexpectedly, on July 27, 2020 in Targow.
