Painter, university teacher, studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk. He received his diploma, in the specialty of architectural painting, in the studio of Prof. Władysław Jackiewicz in 1969. In 1969-1971, he was employed as a trainee assistant at the Studio of Painting Techniques of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk at the Faculty of Painting. In 1970 he was awarded First Prize at the National Festival of Young Painting in Sopot. Since 1971, he was a research and teaching employee (full-time assistant) of the State Higher School of Fine Arts, later the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. From 1973 to 1977 he worked as a senior assistant. From 1974 he was an assistant in the Drawing Studio of the Department of Basic Education of the Painting Faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts. From 1978 to 1989, he held the position of assistant professor, and independently led the Studio of Painting and Drawing at the Pedagogical College of the Academy of Fine Arts. From 1982, he was an assistant professor in the Painting Studio at the Faculty of Painting. Since 1983, he independently led the Studio of Specialization of Wall Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. In 1988, as a docent, he took over the independent Studio of Wall Painting. From 1989 to 1991 as a docent. Since 1991-director of the Studio of Wall Painting at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk and associate professor. In January 1997, he received the title of professor from the hands of President of the Republic of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski.
He participates in painting exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He presented individual exhibitions in Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, Elblag, Zakopane, Stockholm, Zwinenberg, Hamburg. He has participated in many group exhibitions, including: Germany, Finland and France, where he received prizes and awards. He managed the renovation of the facades of tenements in the Old Town of Gdansk in the techniques of sgraffito, fresco and al. secco. In 2008 he received the "Pomeranian Griffin Statuette" art award from the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, and in 2010 he received the Award of the Mayor of the City of Gdansk, for his contribution to the development of wall painting. Prof. Andrzej Dyakowski is a two-time scholarship recipient of the Minister of Culture and Art. In 1983, he received the Third Degree Award of the Minister of Culture and Art. He is a recipient of Awards from the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts for his teaching work (during the tenure of Prof. Franciszek Duszeńko, Prof. Stanisław Radwański and Prof. Jerzy Krechowicz).
Prof. Andrzej Dyakowski's paintings are in the collections of the National Museum in Gdansk and private collections.
Supervisor of summer internships 1975, 1976; supervisor of the International plein-air workshop for students of the Baltic countries "FART" 1973, 1974, supervisor of plein-air workshops in Nowy Dwór, Kazimierz n/Wisła, Władysławowo, Potęgowo, Tuczno k/Piła in 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982,1983,1984, 1985, supervisor of plein-air workshops in Zakopane 1994.
Supervisor, together with Prof. Maciej Swieszewski, of a group of students who decorated, within 7 months from October 2004, with their paintings the new building of the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology of the Department of Pediatrics, Hematology, Oncology and Endocrinology of the Institute of Pediatrics of the Medical Academy in Gdansk.
Member of ZPAP, author of first and second degree reviews.
Under the tutelage of Professor Józefa Wnukowa, in the common room of the student house, he gained experience in creating quilts and designing furniture, as a development of the idea of a continuum between the design of the walls and the entire interior.
