Aleksandra Kubacka (b. 1990, Katowice) - graduate of painting at the Academy of Arts
Fine Arts in Katowice and cultural studies at the University of Silesia. She also studied at Universidad de Castilla La Mancha in Spain as part of the Erasmus student exchange program. Her works have been presented at exhibitions such as TRIENNALE OF SMALL PAINTING FORMS, (Wozownia Art Gallery, Toruń), Ale Sztuka! Young Polish Painting and II Review of Contemporary Art New Avant-garde, Wilson Shaft Gallery, Katowice, finalist of the 5th All-Poland Leon Wyczółkowski Painting Contest;
In her artistic practice, she focuses on the relationship of survival that humans produce with the post natural environments they inhabit. She is interested in how heavily industrialized places and the corporatization of space influence the production of models of life immersed in escapism and tropical fantasies. Particularly
interesting to her is the study of the relationship between leisure and work, as well as hyperobject theory. I look at the toxic waste of capitalist culture, which I see as a constant simulation of the natural world, subject to processing and reinterpretation.
