Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the Faculty of Painting from 1998 to 2003 (painting with Prof. Jaroslaw Modzelewski and drawing with Prof. Tomasz Zolniekiewicz). She received her diploma with honors in 2003 from Prof. Wieslaw Szamborski, and did an appendix in mural painting from Prof. Edward Tarkowski. In 2005 she received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. Since October 2005, she has been working as an assistant at the Painting Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. The dominant motif of her paintings is the female figure, shown in everyday, intimate situations, placed in colorful, decorative, conventionally treated interiors, painted in ornamental patterns "a la wallpaper." The artist has been looking at herself for several years, studying her own body. In dynamic close-ups, asymmetrical frames, she reveals the full eroticism, sensuality, beauty and frailty of her corporeality. New subject matter has recently been introduced into her paintings by the experience of motherhood.
