Adam Kunikowski's work is firmly rooted in the tradition of Polish painting.
Intimate landscapes painted with "light" show the painter's wonderful sensitivity to color, searched and found in depth, with sensitivity. He is able to achieve unity of form and content with great sensitivity. The artist, using pastel colors, freely operates with color, plane and texture, using the qualities of his very individual style.
Polish landscape above all, but also architecture , still life, genre scenes and marine and historical subjects occupy an important position in Adam Kunikowski's work. He tries to depict the captured landscapes in a communicative way, wishing to bring out the elements of beauty and harmony, as well as to convey the atmosphere of the place. A lot of simplifications, abbreviations, symbolic syntheses, painterly understatements, which causes the construction of anxiety or peace, melancholy, nostalgia and expression. They show, on the one hand, the effect of lightness, on the other hand, perfectly convey the aura of climate, mood, spirit and poetics of the place both in contemporary and historical motifs.
The artist is characterized by a solid workshop, artistic sense and observation of nature.
