mixed technique (dry pastel, charcoal), pastel paper, 42 x 29.7 cm, framed: 50 cm x 40 cm, signed l.d.: W. Jańczak 2021
Wojciech Jańczak - (born in 1990 in Parczew, Lublin province) lives and works in Lublin. Self-taught painter-drawer, whose works are a mixture of surrealism, cubism and magic realism. He creates paintings in pastel, watercolor and acrylic, and his main inspirations are music, photography and the works of Zdzislaw Beksinski, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.
The main theme of his works is the human being. The figures that are the subject of his paintings are always a product of imagination, a kind of photographed dreams. The metaphorical realms present in his drawings and canvases show human emotions, thoughts and experiences, as well as the transience of events and the passage of time.
As an artist, he rejects conventional beauty and tries to find his own way to express his thoughts and feelings. In his latest works, he depicts the human figure, using geometrization of shapes, contrasting colors and symbolism.
