Sylwia Walania-Telega, born 1995.
Graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, as well as the
art history at the Jagiellonian University. She received a diploma with distinction and a medal from the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in 2020 in the studio of Prof. Karol Badyna. She received a scholarship from the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in the 2017/2018 academic year. She has participated in many plein-airs, exhibitions, competitions, and was awarded, among others, in the competition "Contemporary Transposition of the Work of Konstanty Laszczka" in 2016. In September 2021, her solo exhibition was held at the MCK in Lezajsk. She won the Grand Prix in the Second International Competition and Exhibition of Contemporary Art Quadriennale Betesda in October 2021. She works in ceramics, small sculptural forms, as well as drawing. In art, he strives to combine realism and abstraction, searching for his own forms of expression. "It doesn't matter that coo has been said many times, what matters is that it has been said differently each time," she says. Important to her is the dialogue with history, through which she can draw patterns to process them into her own individual language.
