Biography
In 2001 he received a diploma with distinction in the studio of Prof. Wieslaw Szamborski at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In addition, at the same time he received an annex to his diploma in the studio of Art in Public Space, where he is a doctor of art and works as an assistant. Early in his career, Wachowski developed a proprietary ultraviolet technology. Using fluorescent paints, he transforms his paintings into enigmatic works. The works, which look like oil paintings in daylight, change their color and character under ultraviolet light. In 2002, Wachowski was nominated for the Polityka Passports by the quarterly Exit, a magazine devoted to new art in Poland. In 2007 he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. His solo exhibitions were held at, among others, Olympia Gallery in Cracow (2002), Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Slupsk (2004) and m2 Gallery in Warsaw (2007). In addition, he participated in foreign group exhibitions at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin and the Melnikow Gallery in Heidelberg. His painting "Saint Sebastian" was purchased for the collection of the Regional Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Czestochowa.
