Péter Borkovics
Graduated from the High School of Fine Arts, Budapest, 1990. Diploma from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), Budapest, 1996. Doctoral studies at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), Budapest, 2001-2003. Has been teaching in the glass studio at the High School of Fine Arts, Budapest since 1997. Scholarships: Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, 1994; Lajos Kozma, 1998; Erasmus at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, 2002. Numerous prizes and awards, including: 1st prize, Artemida competition for lamp design, organized by VAM Gallery, Budapest, 1993. Second Prize, Artrevue 93, Budapest; Prize of the Minister of Culture and Education for a glass with a finger in the Hungarian Design Competition, Hungary, 2002; Noemi Ferenczy Prize, Hungary, 2004. Participation in more than 60 domestic and international exhibitions. Works in museum collections, including the Museum of Applied Art in Budapest, the Bárdudvarnok Glass Collection (Mária Goszthony Foundation), the Rippl-Rónai Museum, Kaposvar and the Hungarian National Museum in Budapest.
