Biography
Studied at Pinsk State University of Fine Arts (graphic designer) and Vitebsk State University under the tutelage of P.M. Masherov. She taught art at an art school for 6 years and participated in exhibitions in Belarus, Poland, Russia, Spain and Italy. Her works are in private collections in Europe, Asia and America. She explores space in her artistic works. Her abstract paintings explore the possibility of minimalist composition and reveal a new illusion of perception. Each painting is built in layers with artistically proportioned forms, the sketch of which Julia initially creates on a graphics tablet. The contrast of the accent with the surrounding space creates an impression of depth and volume by means of lines of gold and shadows from them on a white background, created using the sfumato technique. Where the gold lines intersect, the shadows are deepest, creating an impression of infinite depth, an illusion of penetrating space that seems to extend beyond the boundaries of the canvas, while the light seems to pull inexorably inward. Her thought-provoking artworks, the artist says, open up possibilities and proclaim infinity and eternity.
