Jaroslaw Gewinner (born 1978 - Bielsko-Biala) - is a graduate of the Julian Fałat High School of Fine Arts in Bielsko-Biala. He studied at the Art Institute of the University of Silesia, where he earned a bachelor's degree in graphic design. At the same university, he earned a Master of Arts degree in painting in 2006.
His work is diverse. It consists of both oil and acrylic paintings and ink drawings. The style of his works is peculiar, closest to surrealism, but not clearly modeled on anything known. The bizarre compositions are surprising in their non-obviousness. He reaches for natural as well as industrial motifs , adding abstract elements, animals or imaginary creatures, as if from Hieronymus Bosch's paintings. An excess of elementscan be seen in his works , but they are combined with astonishing harmony, creating an intricate composition.
He has participated in many group and individual exhibitions over the years. He is a member of the Association of Polish Artists.
In 2024, he was qualified and participated in the final exhibition at the prestigious International Biennale of Graphic Arts in
Taiwan, organized every two years by the National Museum there.
