Jacek Lipowczan's paintings are characterized by incredible fantasy, at the same time leaving a lot of room for the viewer's own imagination. With a mannerism almost akin to the old masters, he applies oil to the board in a long process, layer by layer. We perceive his paintings in the same way, step by step we get to know the depicted scene, gradually discovering more and more details, minutiae, details and nuances, so that we are forced to look very closely. Often there are suddenly opening spaces, which then succumb to concealment....
