Biography
Graduate of the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, with a specialization in Conservation of Painting and Polychrome Wooden Sculpture. She held the position of assistant in the Department of Techniques and Technology of easel painting and in the Department of Techniques and Technology of glazing at the WKiRDS of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. The artist's oeuvre was recognized at the UpComing exhibition presenting the works of the most promising graduate artists at the Academy of Fine Arts, as well as at the "Five Years Later" vernissage at the headquarters of the Association of Visual Artists. Currently, the artist is involved in the conservation of both ancient and contemporary works of art (including cooperation in restoring the Gothic cabinet altar of the Cistercian Abbey in Ląd, the stalls of St. Paul's Church in Lublin, Byzantine frescoes in Lebanon, works presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Ujazdowski Palace, Zachęta, as well as objects for the British Embassy). On request, she makes copies of contemporary and ancient painters based on her knowledge of painting technology. At the center of the author's interest remains painting. In her "Indeterminacy" series, she focuses on color and stain, which create the illusion of landscape. These works are inspired by the search for an answer to the question of how a Flemish landscape painter transferred to the present day would paint, trying to find himself in today's painting space. When painting figurative representations, on the other hand, he is inspired by old Hollywood, the art deco style and the glitter with which this world is saturated.
