A military formation of the mechanized troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located in the city of Belaya Cerkiev in the Kiev region. The brigade was formed in 2002 on the basis of the 72nd Guards Mechanized Division, which in turn has its history from the 72nd Guards Mechanized Division. Since 2014, the brigade has been taking part in the war in eastern Ukraine as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation force. In the summer of 2014, units of the brigade fought heavy battles on the Russian-Ukrainian border, in the Azov region, and in the winter of 2016, near Avdiyevka in the industrial zone.In 2022, at the beginning of the Russian invasion, the brigade defended the capital Kiev, taking part in the battles for Irpin, Moschun, Gostomel, Bucha. The brigade has been fighting in the Donbass since the summer. The brigade has an honorable name - in honor of the Black Zaporozhians - a military formation from the time of the Ukrainian People's Republic.
