Tsarist Eagle pattern 1828 from the helmet of a soldier of the 94th Infantry Regiment. Eagle used between 1828-1856 on infantry headgear. Impressive size. 16cm x 14cm.
Insignia in the form of a double-headed eagle wearing a crown, with St. George on his chest slaying a dragon. The eagle rests on an amazon shield with the regimental number (94), by the regimental number holes from the attached shield with the next regimental number. You can see general signs of use, some of the attachments are missing, condition as in the photos.
Original eagle, pattern used during the suppression of the November Uprising of 1830-31. Eagles of wz.1828 remained in use until 1856, including the Crimean War.
