Hand closed, brass frame. The yoke is straight, disc-shaped. The two shields from the front side taper and pass into a bail attached by a bolt to the oval head. Heart-shaped shield reinforced at the edges with a flattened brass bar. Wooden shank, quatrefoil, wider in the middle part, entwined with many wires and brass filigrees. At the bottom, the shaft is set in a massive collar forming a whole with the inner side of the shield. Top fixed with a head riveted with a head pin. Head of steel, polished, straight, double-edged, hexagonal in cross-section. At the height of the hilt, both lobes decorated with etched ornamental decoration and medallions with the sentences "Ne me tire pas snas raison/ne me remette point sans honneur".
